shortly after this picture was taken he laid down
in the cool water. Funny, I thought cats didn't
like water???

The San Diego Zoo has three Chinese Panda Bears:
Shi Shi, Bai Yun and Hua Mei. Bai Yun gave birth to
Hua Mei on August 21, 1999 at the San Diego Zoo. This is
Shi Shi taking a nap in the shade of trees at the new Panda
exhibit.

I'm not sure what kind of wild cat this is, but it's
slightly larger than your typical house cat. In this
picture there was a small bird (I drew a circle 'cause
the bird's so small) and this cat was about to pounce on
it for lunch. About 8 people stood silent waiting for the
cat to jump.

When the cat finally pounced, the bird took off and escaped
the fate of being a menu item. At least for the time being...

Another wild cat, this one looks very similar to
ordinary house cats, but has slightly longer legs in
proportion to his body. His meow (or yowl) was much deeper
in tone than house cats. This picture was taken 9/29/2001.

Koala napping time. Seems to be the case every time I
see them at the zoo.
